Toronto Paramedic Services celebrates the graduation of 37 new recruits
This afternoon, the City of Toronto welcomed 37 new frontline Operations and Communications Centre staff members to Toronto Paramedic Services (TPS) at a graduation ceremony.
The graduates, who have each completed comprehensive orientation and training programs, include 35 new Primary Care Paramedics and two Emergency Telecommunicators.
TPS is staffed by highly skilled paramedics who provide 24-hour, pre-hospital emergency care that may be the difference between life and death for ill or injured individuals. TPS’ Communications Centre has received a six-time Accredited Centre of Excellence from the International Academies of Emergency Medical Dispatch (IAED) and is comprised of a specialized team of emergency telecommunicators. TPS’ Emergency Medical Dispatchers and Call Takers are the critical link between people in need and timely access to emergency medical resources.
